| How it all got started... Its early evening the day after Thanksgiving and you are sitting at
the kitchen table with yesterday's events, food, fun, and fights starting
to meld into on big blur of left over pumpkin pie and your niece throwing
her drumstick on the clean kitchen floor just before your uncle steps
in it and tracks it all over the rest of the house.
Your mother comes out carrying a large box of photographs and keepsakes
from your past, and you both start to review your life growing up,
remembering great times and those who have left this world before us.
Then you find
an envelope containing some pictures that belonged to your grandmother.
These pictures however are not marked. Knowing that they must be relatives,
you begin to ask, "Who is this?" "Who is that?" Your
mother responds, your Aunt probably knows these people... but I just
can't remember right now."
Being the technical minded person you are, you run off to the computer
with a fist full of pictures, and start scanning them into your computer.
You then begin a campaign of bombarding your relatives through e-mail
all over the Internet with these photographic treasures that have been
located in the back of your mother's closet for years.
After a few days of this time consuming communications back and forth,
you realize.... There must be a better way to do this. Some easier way
to keep track of all of this information and what am I going to do with
it when we are all done?
This story may somewhat be embellished, but it is not too far off. For
it is the origination of the concept behind.... DoItHere.net
